The countdown to 40 is on...

1/2/2020

In exactly nine months (not 10 like I originally thought because I can't do maths!), on October 3rd 2020, I turn the big 4-0! And you know what... it's crept up suddenly, but unlike when I was turning 30 the idea of turning 40 is not scary at all!

I can still remember the day of my 30th like it was yesterday - only because I was in Melbourne for the AASCF Cheerleading Nationals with the Starlets and managed to dislocate my left knee (for the second time) on the floor while competing our hip hop routine! I should have also been competing in jazz, cheer and group stunt but because I had dislocated my knee in May of that year, I was forced to retire from the others.

Now as I am 9 months off turning 40 I am actually a shitload fitter and stronger than I was back then... and I finally did something about my knees. It only took me 10 years, but you can't rush these things! I wish I had the body and strength I had now back then. Or I listened to my physio and did my knee rehab properly the first time! Oh well - as they say, you live and learn.

A lot of other things have changed in the last 10 years - I'm now married, we are living in our second house together and we have our gorgeous little furbaby! There have been many laughs and many tears over the years as well - the loss of Grandma and Pop, both in the same year... but also a number of overseas trips, Bon Jovi Fan Club trips and a big career change.

I still have a number of things I want to do and achieve before I'm 40. I put the question out on Facebook to my friends on what they suggest to add to my list... and I'd love to hear your thoughts :) I plan on making a list of things that will push me out of my comfort zone, but also be achievable within my means!

So... here's to 40 and being 100% fabulous!!
