BoundRound is working to develop relationships with excursion venues around Australia and the world to provide teachers with opportunities to easily plan engaging and educational experiences for their students.
We were given a list of 'clues' that we needed to decipher before visiting each location, taking a photo and uploading it to Twitter with the hashtag #boundroundrocks with our team name (right Maggie?!). The treasure hunt saw us visit the site of the first hospital in Sydney as well as being able to see a section of the original wood planked road that has preserved.
Even though it was a hot afternoon in town, we had lots of fun working out what the clues meant and then finding them. Research, mapping, planning and teamwork skills all came into play.
It would be a great activity to do with any students who are learning about the colonisation of Sydney and a bit of history about The Rocks precinct!
